If you’re looking for a completely plastic-free clean makeup brand, I’m sharing all about Flavedo and Albedo makeup today. Please note, this is not 100% natural makeup and does contain synthetics. With a “love makeup, hate plastic ” ethos, Flavedo and Albedo is a brand that truly puts sustainability as high as a priority as it does makeup performance. Their products are packaged in aluminium, glass and sustainable timber – no plastic tubs, no lids, no seals, no nothing. Handling their packaging does take a little getting used to but very easy to handle once you do. Read on my for Flavedo and Albedo makeup swatches along with my thoughts on the products!
For a new-ish brand from Sydney that only launched in 2020, Flavedo and Albedo already has a wide selection of eyeliners, eyeshadows, multi-use products, and highlighters. Their Dew Tint won an award in 2022 and they seem to just be getting started.
Dew Tint
Of course, the star of the line is their award-winning Dew tint which is a multi-use cream product for cheeks, lips and eyes.
Some basic facts:
- Hydrating formula
- Actively plumps skin and lips to minimise fine lines
- Dewy finish
- Paraben free
- Vegan
- Cruelty free
- Recycled and infinitely recyclable aluminium pot
Dew Tint has fantastic pigment power and a great creamy consistency that isn’t overly emollient or too dry. In full transparency, I do find Dew Tint’s ingredients to be low in terms of “cleanliness” when it comes to the spectrum of clean beauty as Dew Tint is made up mostly of synthetics.
Ingredients: Octyldodecanol, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Polyethylene, Diisostearyl Malate, Polybutene, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax), Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Iron Oxides (CI 77492), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Red 6 (CI 15850), Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090)

High Glow
I think my favorite so far is the High Glow in shade Pearl. This is an illuminator / highlighter that almost feels like a cream to powder type of product. I hate an oily look with highlighters and much prefer something like the High Glow. It provides a beautiful glow without any glitter effect.
Velvet Eyeshadow
Their Cool Bronze and Rose Quartz eyeshadows are highly pigmented and already opaque from an initial application, while their matte eyeshadow Hazelnut is less pigmented and takes a few layers to build up. Like the name suggests these glide on like velvet.
I love that these shades are so wearable and they lean cool toned.
