ogee makeup organic

My OGEE review (what I liked and didn’t like)

I tried ten Ogee makeup and skincare products so you don’t have to. I’m sharing my no-nonsense review including which products I would repurchase and which I would pass on (and why).

OGEE is a certified organic makeup line that’s cruelty-free, synthetic fragrance free, gluten-free, petroleum-free, silicone-free, plastic-free and GMO-free. Yes, they’re NSF certified to use at least 70% organic ingredients in every product. I feel like OGEE is the closest clean dupe to Westman Atelier, which is neither all natural nor organic. The look and packaging is luxurious and the formulas are sophisticated and high-performing.

ogee foundation stick complexion tinted serum

I tried Complexion Perfecting Tinted Serum

When I first tried OGEE’s tinted serum I was expecting it to be similar to ILIA’s Super Serum Tint or Typology’s tinted serum, but I was surprised to find out it isn’t. (That was actually a relief because I don’t like ILIA’s or Typology’s tinted serum.) This tinted serum feels hydrating and light, more like an actual face serum, with less viscosity than ILIA’s. It also doesn’t have a dewy finish thank god. I find the finish to be natural, semi-matte on my skin. It’s easy to spread and the coverage is a solid medium for me. A little goes a long way so I feel like it will also last me a long time. It’s basically everything I would want in a tinted serum though some sun protection would also be nice. Love that it’s got plumping Gooseberry Fruit, refining Daisy Flower, and brightening Vitamin C Concentrate.

Price: $58
Shades available: 20
Key actives: Organic aloe juice, Gooseberry, Daisy Flower, Vitamin C
How it feels: like a light juicy serum
Finish: Natural, semi-matte

ogee bronzer organic sculpted face stick

I tried Sculpted Face Stick

I’m in love with the Sculpted Face Stick! The pigment, the way it blends and the consistency is top tier. It’s creamy but in a drier way so it doesn’t feel greasy. It’s incredible that this is an organic makeup product and still performs like high-end department store products. I find it so easy to blend and I love that it has a natural not dewy finish. It’s infused with Green Coffee Oil to stimulate collagen, Sal Tree Resin and Organic Tapioca Powder in an organic olive fruit oil base. The Sculpted Face Stick comes in twelve shades ranging from translucent to pinks to bronze shades.

ogee sculpted tinted lip oil shade Rosalia

I tried Sculpted Lip Oil

The Sculpted Lip Oil is another standout in OGEE’s makeup range in my opinion. It’s shaped like a lip crayon but it’s actually a lip oil in solid form. The Clear version feels super slick and feels like a buttery oil when applied. I find it decently moisturizing and lasts for an average amount of time. I love that it contains 95% certified organic ingredients like organic Olive Fruit Oil, Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter and Peppermint Oil.

Tinted Sculpted Lip Oil in Rosalia

I also tried their Tinted Sculpted Lip Oil in the shade Rosalia and found it to have a very different consistency than the Clear version. While the non-tinted feels closer to an oil, the tinted version has a drier, denser consistency more akin to a tinted lip balm. I like the amount of color payoff it provides and that it’s not too subtle and not too strong. Rosalia looks really natural on me. I think this is a great high-end organic tinted lip balm that feels luxe and has great ingredients.

Price: $28
Shades available: 12 including clear
Key actives: Olive Fruit Oil, Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter and Peppermint Oil.

Sculpted Complexion Stick in shade Poplar

I tried Sculpted Complexion Stick

I love how creamy, breathable and natural looking their stick foundation feels and looks. I find the coverage to be on the lighter side, could be medium for some people, but it IS buildable for more coverage. I also find it easy to blend with my foundation brush or with my fingers and it doesn’t feel heavy or look cakey. The ingredients are 70% certified organic and all natural with a blend of waxes, oils and resins. Love the luxe look of the packaging and I actually prefer this formula to Westman Atelier’s foundation stick, which is not all natural.

ogee mascara organic

I tried Beyond Clean Volumizing Mascara

The mascara is one of my least favorite OGEE products. This doesn’t work quite the way it’s supposed to and has an overly waxy dense formula. At 36 buckaroos this costs too much for a mascara that has faulty performance. I think if it were just less wax-heavy it would be excellent at volumizing. Currently it volumizes too much that it looks clumpy immediately. Check out my favorite clean mascara brands.

Price: $36
Key actives: Organic aloe leaf juice, jojoba oil, oat-derived proteins

ogee primer organic

I tried Activated Botanical Primer

This is a light and juicy serum that helps prep skin for makeup by adequately hydrating it. It’s certified to contain at least 95% organic ingredients and has plumping hyaluronic acid, florals, jojoba oil and plant-based Squalane. It feels super lightweight and just makes for a slightly smoother canvas when applying makeup. I wouldn’t say it works like a conventional primer that uses silicones.

Price: $58
Key actives: Hyaluronic Acid, Jojoba Oil, Sugarcane-derived Squalane, Chamomile

organic makeup ogee

I tried Hyaluronic Acid HA 1.5% Elixir

First off, OGEE would not be my go-to for skincare, but it’s nice if you want to shop for organic skincare and makeup in one place. Their Hyaluronic Acid Elixir is texturally very light and liquid like and contains both low and micro molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid. It gives my skin a shot of instant hydration but I personally prefer a thicker hyaluronic serum. The ingredients are very simple and straightforward – it’s just a mix of water, aloe, hyaluronic acid and natural preservatives. I find it very expensive for just 0.5 oz of product.

I tried Retinol Alternative Bakuchiol 2% Elixir

This is a super duper gentle natural retinol product with Bakuchiol derived from Babchi seeds as the active ingredient. It’s definitely an oil instead of a serum, but feels lightweight as an oil and non-greasy. The formula begins with a base of Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride and is infused with jojoba oil, bakuchiol at 2%, Buriti fruit oil and Elderberry fruit extract. I also feel that this is super expensive for the amount of product you get.

Price: $88 for 0.5 oz
Key actives: jojoba oil, bakuchiol%, Buriti fruit oil and Elderberry fruit extract
How it feels: a face oil
