I’m sharing my honest Mielle Organics review after testing their Rosemary Mint Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil, Pomegranate Honey Leave In, Rice Water Moisturizer Milk and Mint Almond Oil. Mielle Organics was acquired by P&G in 2023 just around the time when TikTok rising star Alix Earle made it sell out everywhere. The core customer base of Mielle Organics are Black / African American women so you know these products are meant to deliver. Thanks to the mass appeal of their quality, affordable products Mielle is a great option to look into for everyone no matter your hair type. The Mielle Rosemary Mint Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil is their hero product, so naturally I had to try that plus some of their most popular hair products. The entire line costs around $8-15, BUT there are a few strong drawbacks to consider before buying Mielle.
One thing to note is a lot of their products contain synthetic fragrance. Their oil hair products do not seem to contain it but almost everything else seems to.
I find the products that DO contain fragrance to be overwhelmingly fragrant. Please check each product’s ingredients list if you do not use anything with fragrance. I feel the use of the word “organic” in the brand’s name is misleading as this is not a line that uses at least 70% organic ingredients in all their products. There’s also the use of phenoxyethanol, BHT, disodium EDTA and other synthetics in some of the products.
Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil
Although the name says rosemary mint, this hair and scalp oil contains so much more than just these two oils. It contains more than 30 essential oils and extracts and is truly an impressive concoction for something that costs less than $10. Note that the ingredients are not organic (if they were I’m sure this would cost much more than $9.) But this is a great option for those of you who need a clean formulated hair oil that doesn’t cost $48. It has a light to medium weight consistency and smells herbal (not overpowering). Rosemary Mint Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil should be used on both scalp and hair for best results – and you don’t have to feel bad about using a lot of product because it’s so affordable. You should leave it on overnight at the bare minimum. I like to let it sink in for more than a day to reap the most benefits.

Mielle Organics Pomegranate Honey Leave In Conditioner
First off, $12 for 12 oz is simply insane. The scent is very synthetic and strong for me personally, but if Mielle created a non-scented or all-natural version I would totally re-purchase. While Mielle Organics Pomegranate Honey Leave In Conditioner is for type 4 (thick curls and coils) hair I find it lightweight enough to use for my hair and not all that much thicker than other leave-in conditioners I’ve used. It isn’t overly rich, greasy or oily and feels like a creamy lotion. I also like using the Mielle Leave In Conditioner as a deep conditioning mask. It’s so affordable I don’t have to feel guilty about using a generous amount of product for a variety of uses.
Mielle Organics bad reviews submitted from readers:
It did nothing for my curly hair accept make it more frizzy. It also cause some itchy scalp.

I purchased the Mielle Organics Pomegranate & Honey hair products from Target [Pomegranate & Honey Leave-In Conditioner, Pomegranate & Honey Curl Defining Mousse with Hold, Pomegranate & Honey Curl Smoothie] and I couldn’t be more disappointed. I feel like I wasted more than $50 on these items.

Mielle Organics Mint Almond Oil
This Mielle hair oil is a much simpler blend than the Rosemary Mint Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil, with just 3 ingredients: Soybean oil, organic sweet almond oil and organic peppermint oil. It’s lightweight and great for adding more moisture to dry tips or for hair oiling, but I wouldn’t repurchase it because it’s in a base of soybean oil and I’d prefer to just have a sweet almond oil product.
Mielle Rice Water Moisturizer Milk
My least favorite product of the ones I tried was the Rice Water Moisturizer Milk. While I normally would LOVE the idea of using rice water in my hair, I wasn’t impressed by the overall formulation of the product. And of course, there was the strong synthetic scent.
