Hexclad Cookware combines cast iron, stainless steel AND non-stick in their pans that perform to Michelin chef standards. These are definitely not the pans you find at your supermarket and the price reflects the quality and technology that goes into making these. The Hexclad pans are invincible – they can be used with metal utensils, in the oven and dishwasher. I tried the Hexclad Pan Set for 2 months and am sharing my review.
Non-stick meets Stainless Steel
Hexclad combines non-toxic, PFOA-free nonstick with stainless steel that’s visible as an interwoven honeycomb pattern. The stainless steel parts are slightly more elevated, while the nonstick has been placed in the center of each hexagon. The Hexclad pans have an aluminum core and feature temperature regulation.
I found the ergonomic handles make holding, lifting and moving the pans easier as they are quite heavy.
Extremely Easy to Clean
I’ve accidentally burned things in my Hexclad pan and it only required a little bit of effort with a scrubber to get everything off.
Any cleaning I do from regular cooking is even more of a breeze.
When I scramble eggs, they’re able to slide right off with minimal cleanup whereas quite a bit of scrubbing would be required for stainless steel pans. Here I’ve actually burn the eggs while making an omelette, and without any presoaking, I was able to scrub off everything very easily.
Searing Meat
It’s able to sear meat well to a certain degree but not as will as an iron skillet, which I expected as much. I’m not a huge meat person so this wasn’t a priority for me. I would much rather the pan be durable, non-stick and easy to clean.
More Durable than Non-Stick: No Damage from Metal Utensils
I tend to use metal utensils a lot and am guilty of eating directly from the pan once in a while, so my other pans have all been chipped and damaged. My Hexclad pans have been able to withstand any wear and tear from forks, knives and other metal utensils.
The Hexclad pans are heavier than your average pan, but they’re still lighter than my ceramic cookware from Caraway.
