Today I’m sharing my honest Soaring Heart mattress review of their Organic Latex Mattress and organic pillows! I tested the Soaring Heart mattress with my partner over the last several months and am seriously in love. The quality is simply outstanding and I love that it’s made of GOLS certified organic latex. This is a great organic mattress for those who like a firm, supportive mattress. Keep reading for my detailed review of the Soaring Heart organic mattress, including its pros and cons.
Is the Soaring Heart Mattress for You?
The Soaring Heart mattress would be great for:
- Couples: The mattress has great motion isolation (unwanted movement doesn’t travel through the mattress), so you won’t feel your partner tossing and turning.
- Hot sleepers: This is ideal for people who tend to overheat in the middle of the night. The mattress doesn’t trap heat and feels breathable and cooling.
- Luxury shoppers: This is a long term investment for those who want the highest quality mattress that will last forever.
- Back pain sufferers: The firmness level of the mattress will help ease aches and pains
What does the Soaring Heart mattress feel like?
This is a very responsive mattress that you can stay atop of and move easily around on. You will not feel like you’re sinking into the mattress. It feels bouncy, lifted and firm. Compared to other organic mattresses I’ve tried, the Soaring Heart one has a unique feel due to its handcrafted construction sans springs and coils. It’s so supportive yet you feel cushioned at the same time.
Why I Chose Soaring Heart
Here’s a little backstory on why I went looking for a new organic mattress. My previous mattress was too soft and I was looking for a firmer mattress, which the Soaring Heart mattress was described as being according to reviews online. This purely latex mattress is so much better than a conventional mattress. I find the Soaring Heart mattress amazing for back support and highly recommend if you suffer from chronic back pain and aches. I have the Soaring Heart topper as well, but I actually find the mattress to be fantastic even without the topper (though some people online said they needed the topper).
About Soaring Heart Organic Mattress
Soaring Heart’s organic mattress is meticulously handcrafted using organic, all natural raw materials and time-honored craftsmanship. The firmness of this mattress has gotten rid of my partner’s lower back pain entirely. If you’re looking for a natural sleep system, keep on reading for my Soaring Heart Organic Latex Mattress review to see if it’s the right fit for you.
Before I go into detail, here’s what I appreciate about my Soaring Heart mattress in a nutshell:
- It’s made to order instead of stored in some warehouse (this does mean it takes about 3-4 weeks for the mattress to be made)
- They use the highest quality organic materials
- Firm and supportive (I would consider this to be 8/10 in firmness level)
- Simple and elegant with just organic latex and wool
- No strange off gassing smells
Soaring Heart has all the right certifications you want in an organic mattress.
Their latex mattresses are made with the only Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS) certified latex in the world and are certified by an independent testing laboratory, The eco-INSTITUT.
The Soaring Heart Mattress is simple yet impeccably handcrafted. It doesn’t have a spring or coil system like conventional mattresses. This is one of the healthiest mattresses ever you can buy.
The mattress arrived in a massive 120 pound cardboard box and the delivery guy had to help me bring it into my home.
It doesn’t come compressed like a mattress-in-a-box style and ships folded inside a huge box. I definitely needed a trolley for this, while a mattress-in-a-box can be carried by 1 or 2 people.
Firmness Level
The Soaring Heart mattress is a firm mattress, which is exactly what I was looking for this time around. At the same time it does still contour to your body making it comfortably firm.
If you tend to suffer from lower back pain from your current mattress, this mattress could be the solution. It’s so supportive and has eliminated back aches entirely for my partner.
If you are looking for a plush mattress the Soaring Heart Organic Latex wouldn’t be right for for you on its own unless you purchased an additional mattress topper.
What to Know
The Soaring Heart Mattress is about 6 inches thick, so it’s not as thick as a typical mattress. If the thickness doesn’t matter to you then this isn’t of concern, but if it does matter then you would either want to place this mattress on top of your current mattress or you’d need to get their mattress topper.
Another factor to be aware of when considering this mattress is that the process of making it only begins after it’s purchased and can take around a month.
Soaring Heart Organic Pillows
For my comprehensive non toxic pillow guide I tested a couple of Soaring Heart’s organic pillows made with natural kapok, organic shredded latex and wool. These tend to come overfilled so they can be customized.
I love that each pillow comes with a label showing what date the pillow was made and exact materials used as well as a zipper so you can remove batting and customize the pillow to your liking. They really make them brand new for you instead of sending pillows stored for long periods of time in a warehouse.
Both the Shredded Latex and Wool pillow and Natural Kapok pillow are so comfortable and feel very handcrafted. If you find the pillow overly lofty or firm all you have to do is remove some of the filling until it feels perfect! These are great for side sleepers, and with some adjustment, back and combo sleepers too.
My preferred is the Organic Shredded Latex and Wool pillow. I feel like my head sinks in better with this one than the Natural Kapok pillow. Both also feel very supportive.
