Antipodes (along with Trilogy Skincare) is probably the most well-known natural skincare brand hailing from New Zealand. I’ve even seen their products used as toiletries at London hotels. Their green beauty ethos means using only sustainable ingredients from renewable sources, and work with suppliers who can ensure traceability from farm to face. Their certified vegan, organic, and vegetarian formulas are 100% cruelty-free and packaged in high-quality recyclable glass, aluminium, and FSC-approved cardboard, printed with biodegradable eco-inks from vegetables. With an inside-out approach to sustainability Antipodes has saved more than 10 million plastic jars from entering landfill. By the end of 2023, Antipodes hopes to be 100% plastic-free.
Antipodes Vitamin C Serum
I feel like this is a love it or hate it type of product. It almost feels like a makeup prep product because it’s filled with mica, which I find strange for a skincare-focused product. It smells amazing and has a thin, lightweight consistency, but other than that I wasn’t all that impressed. I can see why some people love it, but if you’re in need of a heavy duty Vitamin C serum that provides anti-aging results, I would not recommend the Antipodes one.
It has an interesting gourmand scent that smells of vanilla mixed with cinnamon.
Ingredients: Aqua, glycerin, Terminalia ferdinandiana (kakadu plum) fruit extract, sodium acrylates copolymer & lecithin, benzyl alcohol; dehydroacetic acid, mica, iron oxide, titanium dioxide, sodium hyaluronate, potassium sorbate, sodium phytate; alcohol, Vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract, (Vinanza® Grape), Actinidia deliciosa (kiwi) fruit extract, (Vinanza® kiwi), bakuchiol, Persea gratissima (avocado pear) oil, fragrance of vanilla pod and mandarin: coumarin†, d-Limonene†, linalool†. † Component of essential oil
Hosanna H20 Skin Plumping Serum
This is a very simple, trim formulation of organic lavender hydrosol, Black Fern Leaf extract and grape seed extract. While this is lovely and all, I find it to be a budget formula priced around the mid-luxury point.
Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) Hydrosol*, Aqua (Water), Naticide® (Parfum), Cyathea medullaris (Mamaku) Black Fern Leaf Extract, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Vitis vinifera (grape) Seed Extract, (Vinanza® Grape). Fragrance of French Rose & Cardamon: Citral, Citronellol, d-Limonene, Farnesol, Geraniol, Linalool. *Certified organic by BioGro
Overall, I have mixed feelings about the brand and don’t feel like I would recommend their products, especially when people seem to be looking for something very budget or extremely anti-aging.
