I’ve used so many different kinds of clean lip balms over the course of a decade from Whole Foods staples like EcoLips to luxury Henne Organics and I’m here to finally share all the details. Clean beauty brands are always launching new tinted lip balms, so there’s always a wide variety of organic and natural lip balms to discover. I’m sharing the best OG ones and some of my favorite new tinted lip balms.

I tried Olio e Osso Lip + Cheek Balm

It’s rare to find a cheek tint that’s also moisturizing enough to be a lip balm, but celeb fave- Olio e Osso excels at both. If you don’t mind an oblong oval shape for a lip balm, check out Olio e Osso, which comes in more than a dozen shades and is used by Hailey Bieber.

I tried Honest Beauty Vegan Tinted Lip Balm & Moisturizer

In terms of price, performance and color selection, Honest Beauty offers some of the best tinted lip balms. They’re crazy affordable at $8.99, minimalist chic and highly moisturizing. I tried Mob Beauty Refillable Lip Balm

 I tried ILIA Balmy Tint Hydrating Lip Balm

Lip products are ILIA’s specialty. It’s what started it all. Offered in 8 shades and made with tons of natural good-for-your lips ingredient (but also artificial dyes to achieve their color), ILIA tinted lip conditioners (now Balmy Tint Hydrating Lip Balm) moisturize lips with Sea Succulent, Rosehip Seed Oil, Castor Seed Oil, Shea Butter and more.

They are semi-sheer so one swipe of ILIA tinted lip balm will provide just a subtle hint of color with your natural lip color still dominant. If you want more pigment then you’ll need to do multiple swipes. ILIA Balmy Tint Hydrating Lip Balm is a buttery balm that feels very moisturizing without being over the top greasy. I tried Innbeauty Project Sun Balm SPF 30

I love how cushiony and hydrating this gloss balm is. It comes in 3 shades and contains 13.5% Non-nano Zinc Oxide to protect lips from UVA and UVB rays along with mango butter, shea butter, Squalane and jojoba oil to deeply moisturize. I notice a very subtle cooling effect and the finish is matte without any shimmer. My only complaint is that it’s not all natural.

I tried Kjaer Weis Tinted Lip Balm

I tried Henne Organics Luxury Lip Tint

100% natural and 88% organic, the Henne Organics Luxury Lip Tint comes in 8 stunning shades. I’ve tried a couple and my favorite is Nude! Made of organic oils of coconut, caster, jojoba and avocado along with beeswax, Henne Organics Lip Tint is more of a solid and dense tinted lip balm with a finish that leans matte and a very subtle sheen of color.

I tried Raw Elements Pink Shimmer Lip SPF 30

As a sunscreen addict, I can’t imagine not protecting my lips with SPF because Lips Are Skin Too. One of my favorites over the years has been *certified* natural and OG organic sunscreen brand Raw Elements Pink Shimmer Lip SPF 30. This is a brand so dedicated to being all natural and proving their claims that they went ahead and got certified for it. I love the pop of pink from this lip balm, which has plenty of pigment power I truly only need one swipe. The texture of the lip balm is grainy, which was off putting at first as I’m so used to perfectly smooth balms, but I got over it. They’re highly moisturizing and buttery and I appreciate the high SPF 30 instead of SPF 15. (It has Shimmer in the name but this is actually a matte color.)
