Dr Different Review: K-Beauty Retinol

Dr Different is a popular Korean retinal cosmoceutical brand in Korea and they’re also available on Amazon & SOKO GLAM for those of us in the US. Dr Different was founded by Dr. Lee Dong-won (MD/Ph.D. and founder of CNP Cosmetics-2001) and developed by a team of 15 skin experts. The goal? To formulate the best solutions containing active and skin-friendly ingredients with effective concentration, pH level, and texture. Dr Different’s retinal is patented in Korea with international patents pending.

Retinal vs Retinol

Retinal is supposed to work faster than retinol. It works at smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and stimulating collagen production. Retinal is also more efficient at exfoliating skin.

Dr different vitalift

Dr Different Vitalift A has a balm consistency, so it’s quite rich for a cream but lightweight for a face balm. It’s deeply moisturizing and doesn’t seem to have any detectable scent.

Vitalift-A Forte has 0.1% retinal while Vitalift-A has 0.05% retinal. Vitalift-A for Eye & Neck has the least amount of retinal to cater to these delicate skin areas. It’s recommended to start with the regular Vitalift but if your skin is already used to retinol then I think you’d be fine going with the Forte.
