I tried the top refillable nontoxic candle brands to find the best ones. If you’re looking for a no-fuss, eco-friendly way to burn candles, I highly recommend getting a refillable candle. They save a ton of money, minimize waste and you can re-use your favorite vessel, literally forever. This review compares NOTES, Everly, Siblings, and Phoenix Wick.
The best refillable candles will be free from parabens, phthalates, sulfates and harsh chemicals. Here’s the full list of all the refillable non toxic candles I could find that are available today:

- Siblings
- Pheonix Wick
- ATMO
- Meaningful Mantras (Kaia collection)
A note on candle fragrance
Keep in mind when reading that almost all of these brands use fragrance oils to scent their candles. After researching I found that the ONLY refillable non toxic candle brand that uses 100% natural fragrance (essential oils) is Meaningful Mantras.
I tried Everly Clean Candle
Everly Candle Refill Kits are made with a 100% natural blend of soy and coconut wax (NO paraffin) and the scent is a blend of essential oils and clean fragrance oils. Everly is run by a mom and daughter duo who are on a mission to create the most sustainable and clean candle kits out there. I found this sooo easy to use, even for a total noob. It only takes all but a couple minutes to make! The kit comes in a bag made of 60% compostable materials with the wax, wick, wick stabilizer and card. Once you remove the supplies (except the wax of course), you simply pop it into the microwave to melt the wax. I tried a couple of their scents and my favorite is Suenos. I love this delicious gourmand scent of marshmallow, tobacco, cashmere and vetiver. It’s so so yummy, warm and cozy.
Price: $26
Size: 10 oz
Wax: Soy and coconut wax
I tried Siblings Candles
I recently tried out a couple of Siblings candle scents and found their kit to be super easy to use. I just pop the bag in the microwave just like with Everly candles and pour the liquid into my empty vessel. 05 with clove, lavender and cedarwood is a woodsy lavender scent that’s so grounding and calming before bed. 01 with bergamot, white rose, and oak moss is an elegant rose scent that I like to use to scent my living room, especially when I have guests coming over. I find the scent throw to be medium to strong.
Price: $29
Size: 10 oz
Wax: Coconut wax and soy wax
I tried Phoenix Wick Candle Making Kit
This is the most affordable soy wax candle refill I’ve found. They also have the most variety of scents to choose from. Phoenix Wick makes generously-sized 14 oz bags made with 100% soy wax and premium fragrance oils. These are perfect for larger candles or if you’d like to make two regular sized 7 oz candles, making each one less than $13. I love how there’s tons of cozy winter scents to choose from and I find them to have very strong scent throw.
Price: $25
Size: 14 oz
Wax: 100% Soy wax
I tried Notes Candle Refill Kit
The Notes Candle Refill Kit are made with 100% natural waxes like soy, rice bran and beeswax. Notes is a little different from the rest of the candlemaking brands in this list – it has wax beads that you do not microwave. Instead you simply pour the beads into your candle. There’s a little bit of effort required, because you need to pack down the beads as much as possible so it burns evenly. Notes uses non-toxic fragrance oils, so these will have a strong scent throw. I looove their gorgeous minimalistic white vessel but find the beads to be annoying to use honestly.
Price: $25
Size: 14 oz
Wax: 100% natural blend of rice bran, and beeswax
Other Refillable Candles
ATMO and Meaningful Mantras refillable candles are different in that the refill comes pre-made. So there’s no having to melt any wax and use a wick. It comes pre-made so you can just pop it into the vessel and use it right away.
