In today’s article I ‘m sharing the best clean concealers that are made with skin nourishing ingredients AND can legit cover dark circles, redness and imperfections. These are my personal thoughts after trying all the top pencil, liquid, and cream concealers in the clean beauty space.

Ingredients to avoid in concealer
- Parabens: preservatives linked to hormone disruption
- Talc: can be contaminated with asbestos
- Fragrance: common irritant and allergen
- Bismuth oxychloride: causes itching and clogged pores
- Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives: potential carcinogens
- Oxybenzone: hormone disruptor often found in SPF formulas
- Synthetic dyes: linked to irritation and allergies

I tried ILIA Skin Blur Serum Concealer
ILIA’s new Skin Blur Serum Concealer is a win in my book. This concealer really does give solid medium coverage and doesn’t crease or settle into fine lines. I love that it has skincare ingredients similar to an anti-aging eye cream like Caffeine and Matrixyl 3000 Glyx peptides. The formula is so so hydrating, lightweight and blends like a dream. I find that it quickly dries down to a natural finish, which I guess is the self-setting factor they tout. It comes in 34 inclusive shades.
Coverage Level: Medium
Key Ingredients: Caffeine, Peptides
Shades Available: 34
Price: $32

I tried RMS Revitalize Hydra Concealer
Move over Uncoverup Concealer because the Revitalize Hydra Concealer has to be my favorite rms concealer now. This really does have a super hydrating formula that’s lightweight and easily blendable. This has one of the most skincare focused formulas I’ve seen in a natural concealer other than Fitglow. It’s got Eyebright, their Revital-Eyes complex, a retinol alternative called Tightenyl, Vegetable Squalene, and a blend of herbs.
- Coverage Level: Medium
- Key Ingredients: Eyebright, Revital-Eyes complex, Tightenyl, Vegetable Squalene
- Shades Available: 26
- Price: $36

I tried Tower 28 Swipe Serum Concealer
Tower 28’s concealer is such a great affordable dupe to the higher end serum concealers like ILIA and RMS. I find that it has a super similar hydrating consistency but for a more reasonable price tag. It’s also got a natural finish, decent medium coverage and even some great skincare ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid and Lysine. It did not turn patchy or crease at the end of the day which is a huge win. Overall, I’m very impressed!
- Coverage Level: Medium
- Key Ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid, Lysine
- Shades Available: 28
- Price: $24
I tried Kosas Revealer Concealer
Kosas concealer is a fantastic light coverage concealer that performs similarly to ILIA’s but with less coverage. It’s creamy and can cover up small blemishes while letting your skin still look like your skin. It also has an impressive number of skincare-focused ingredients, so you’re nourishing you skin while you cover up. Kosas also makes my favorite color corrector!
Coverage Level: Light to medium
Key Ingredients: Caffeine, Pink Algae Arnica, Provitamin B5 Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid
Shades Available: 28
Price: $30
I tried Fitglow Beauty Conceal+
Fitglow Beauty Conceal+ is my top 100% natural and organic concealer in the entire clean beauty industry. The creamy liquid formula is great for mature skin and fine lines, gives amazing coverage, and has THE best ingredients hands down. This has got Phyto Elastin, Organic Green Tea, Vitamin K, and Licorice Root to not only cover blemishes but also actually improve skin health. It gives a very solid medium amount of coverage.
- Coverage Level: Medium
- Special Ingredients: Caffeine, Phyto Elastin, Organic Green Tea, Vitamin K, and Licorice Root
- Shades Available: 28
- Price: $42

I tried Pacifica Beauty Dreamlit Glow Concealer
Pacifica’s concealer is such a slept on clean concealer that’s super affordable. I find that performs very similarly to the high-end clean beauty brands like ILIA and rms, but for half the price. It gives amazing medium to high coverage that leans high coverage. It has a lightweight formula that includes skin-forward ingredients like vegan collagen and vegan squalane.
- Coverage Level: High
- Special Ingredients: Vegan Collagen, Vegan Squalane
- Shades Available: 5
- Price: $16
I tried Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer
Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer is the OG FULL COVERAGE cream concealer in the natural makeup space. This is a rich, dense concealer that provides amazing full coverage. The shade range is smaller than the big mass market clean beauty brands, but the formula is 100% natural and non-toxic.
Coverage Level: High
Key Ingredients: Avocado oil, jojoba oil, Cupuaçu butter
Shades Available: 11
Price: $30

I tried Lily Lolo Cream Concealer
For an ultra-creamy, natural concealer for mature skin or dry skin, Lily Lolo Cream Concealer provides strong medium coverage while deeply moisturizing skin with oils of jojoba, organ, sunflower seed and grapeseed. It’s also on the more affordable side for clean makeup at around $20. Lily Lolo is a British brand that creates 100% natural and mineral makeup. I would not recommend this for oily skin as it’s super duper creamy even compared to other cream concealers.
- Coverage Level: Medium
- Special Ingredients: Jojoba, sunflower seed, grape seed and argan oils
- Shades Available: 6
- Price: $21
- Contains 100% natural ingredients

Hall of Shame
These three were the worst concealers I tested in clean beauty. I feel kind of bad calling this the hall of shame, but these concealers had me wondering what the product development team at these brands were thinking.
- Jones Road: maybe I’m just not used to using a concealer pencil, but the pencil did not do much for me and made my skin look dry.
- Saie Beauty: too slick, gave an oily feeling, coverage was too light
- Typology: felt on the greasy side, poor coverage, shades did not look right on me
