Best Natural & Organic Tinted Moisturizers

If you’re not a foundation gal, but you still want a bit of coverage and a “your skin but better” look, then natural tinted moisturizers are the product for you. Luckily, there’s plenty of clean tinted moisturizers for face on the market today. My top recommendation if you’re new to clean beauty and want a truly natural and organic tinted moisturizer is 100% Pure Tinted Moisturizer. I’ve included a few of my other favorites with my second favorite pick being INIKA Organic. Toss aside your Laura Mercier and read on for the best natural tinted moisturizers.

This post is not focused on tinted SPF moisturizers. For tinted face moisturizers with SPF check out this post instead.
100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer

  • For: Normal, Dry, Combination Skin
  • Finish: Dewy
  • Coverage: Sheer, Light
  • Number of Shades: 9

The OG 100% Pure Tinted Moisturizer is an all-around fantastic (and award-winning) facial moisturizer that provides skin with a bit of color. If you want one with SPF protection that’s budget-friendly then my recommendation would be W3ll People’s BioTint Moisturizer SPF 30. If SPF isn’t a concern, then 100% Pure’s Fruit Pigmented Tinted Moisturizer ticks all the boxes. It’s so lightweight and hydrating, sinks in effortlessly and provides a hint of sheer color.

The ingredients are in line with 100% Pure’s foundations but is made mainly of Cucumber Juice and Organic Aloe, which lends it its lightweight, hydrating consistency. Unlike the other foundations, 100% Pure Tinted Moisturizer has added Vitamin C to help fight free radicals and brighten skin.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Leaf Juice*, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Juice, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai Berry) Fruit Oil, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Extracts of Prunus Persica (Peach) Fruit, Camellia Sinensis (Organic White Tea) Leaf*, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Fruit, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa Bean), Lycium Chinense (Goji Berry) Fruit and Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit/Leaf/Stem, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Extracts of Euphorbia Cerifera Cera (Candelilla Wax), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf, Origanum Vulgare (Oregano) Leaf, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Flower/Leaf, Lonicera Caprifolium Flower, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Hydrastis Canadensis (Goldenseal), Cinnamomum Zeylanicum (Cinnamon) Bark *Certified Organic

Inika is a 100% natural and mostly organic makeup brand with extremely high standards. I know this is called a BB cream, but there’s no SPF and the coverage is light so it’s actually more similar to a tinted moisturizer.

Inika Organic BB Cream has the highest percentage of Certified Organic ingredients in a BB Cream, including Prickly Pear Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Neroli Flower Water, and Rosehip oil in an organic aloe base. This certified organic BB cream applies beautifully and evenly and provides light coverage that blurs imperfections. I love that my skin can breathe through this formula.

Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Neroli) Flower Water*, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed) Seed Oil*, Helianthus Annuus Seed (Sunflower) Oil*, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil*, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil*, Argania Spinosa Kernel (Argan) Oil*, Glycerin*, Opuntia Ficus Indica (Prickly Pear) Seed Oil*, Pelargonium Roseum/Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil*, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil*, Lactobacillus Ferment+, Cetyl Alcohol, May Contain (+/-) Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Ultramarines (CI 77007). +Preservative

graydon face glow tinted moisturizer and primer

Graydon Face Glow Tinted Moisturizer

Graydon’s tinted moisturizer is so lightweight and hydrating, perfect if you’re looking for something juicy and thin that also helps brighten skin.

It’s very similar in consistency and texture to Blissoma’s Photonic Light Shifting Solution except it feels even more hydrating since Graydon’s is not an SPF moisturizer.

The formula is as good as it gets in clean beauty with an all natural, vegan and sensitive skin-friendly formula that’s packed with botanical extracts, antioxidant-rich oils, fruit extracts and even gemstone.

Face Glow is enriched with smithsonite for skin elasticity, raspberry seed oil, spirulina, pumpkin seed oil, banana fruit extract, sweet cherry seed oil, rice bran oil, coffee seed extract, pineapple seed extract and so much more.

It’s a versatile moisturizer that also has a brightening effect thanks to mica.

The tint is ruddy with a red undertone and gives a little bit of coverage to hide blemishes. There’s a sweet scent to it that reminds me of marzipan.

Typology tinted serum

Typology Tinted Face Serum

If you like the idea of a tinted serum that’s neither a traditional moisturizer nor a true oil like Kosas, then check out Typology Tinted Face Serum. It’s lightweight and weightless, provides light coverage that looks like your skin with a bit of tint, and imparts a satin, hydrated finish. There’s no silicones or phenoxyethanol and has added skincare benefits of vitamin C and aloe vera.

This is one of those serums that has a ton of grip and feels incredibly moisturizing. I don’t think oily skin types will enjoy this as much as dry skin.

Jane Iredale Dream Tint Tinted Moisturizer
Jane Iredale Dream Tint Tinted Moisturizer

  • For: All skin types
  • Finish: Natural to matte
  • Coverage: Sheer, Light
  • Number of Shades: 7
  • Vegan

Jane Iredale is one of the original skincare-forward makeup brands, and one you’ll often find carried at spas and skin studios. Their Dream Tint Tinted Moisturizer is a hydrating, lightweight, and water-resistant tinted moisturizer with a natural to matte finish.

It provides a soft blurring effect and light coverage with a primer-like quality thanks to dimethicone.

The consistency is light and almost whipped. If you like a scented face product, the Jane Iredale has a strong berry scent. If you don’t want a scented tinted moisturizer then skip Jane Iredale Dream Tint. There is a bit of sun protection provided, but it’s so minimal I would not count this as an SPF tinted moisturizer.

Kosas Tinted Face Oil

Kosas Tinted Face Oil

  • For: Normal, Dry Skin
  • Finish: Dewy to satin
  • Coverage: Light to medium
  • Number of Shades: 16
  • Vegan

If you have dry skin and are looking for something more deeply moisturizing than a hydrating tinted moisturizer then check out tinted face oils. Popularized by ILIA and their Super Serum Skin Tint, the tinted face moisturizer in the form of an oil is suited to a particular taste and the Kosas one is better than ILIA’s.

Kosas Tinted Face Oil is a thin, liquid-like oil that provides light to medium coverage and leaves a dewy finish that dries down to a more satin finish. Using a setting powder can help mattify the finish if you find it overly shiny. Kosas Tinted Face Oil has a very clean and simple ingredients list which I appreciate.

  • Avocado Oil and Meadowfoam Oil to moisturize and plump skin’s appearance
  • Red Raspberry Oil and Jojoba Oil too soothe
  • Camellia Seed Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil to balance and brighten

Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Octyldodecanol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Silica, Mica, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil, Kaolin, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, [+/ -: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxide (CI 77492), Iron Oxide (CI 77491), Iron Oxide (CI 77499)

OK I feel like it would just be…. Criminal? Errant.? I’m looking for the word! Truth: I was doing my usual every-so-often deep dive into the search for a clean tinted moisturizer. Suddenly, I came upon this page, and the line, “ toss away. your Laura Mercier…”” , and – THIS is the product that drives me to theses searches
I mean, it was right, in the beginning of the article, as though you were speaking directly to me! But it can’t be that unbelievable though, since LM is such a popular product! I have a very active job, and the stuff just stays put, looks great, but just doesn’t sit well with me and the rest of my lifestyle, I guess you could say. That said it’s very hard to find a product that does what this does – stays, long, lasting, natural without being Dewey,. I’m still using it, and I use the oil free one even though I’m in my 50s, as I have very normal skin. I’ve tried several and am so hesitant because they haven’t worked out for me. To name two Ilia and W3LL. Elia was not matte enough for me, and.W3LL too thick and couldn’t get a shade match. I also don’t want that cosmetic graveyard.! Anyway, thanks so much for being here with this great information… And thanks for reading! If anyone has any great ideas, love it if you send them my way
