I’ve tested sooo many clean and organic body scrubs over the years, so if you’re looking for the best ones that buff away roughness without the toxins, I’ve got you covered! Non-toxic scrubs use particles from Mother Nature like coffee, salt and sugar to help detoxify, cleanse and remove dead skin cells and flakes to reveal polished, smooth and toned skin.
I’ve found that the newer, more innovative ones will even use the power of acids to provide even deeper exfoliation benefits! The best body scrubs really depends on each individual’s personal preference of how intense of a scrub they’re looking for, the quality of clean ingredients and value for money!
I Tried Nécessaire The Body Exfoliator
This is a very thin gel body scrub that feels sooo hydrating. I looove this as a more advanced exfoliating treatment that doesn’t require much actual scrubbing. It gently buffs away dead skin cells with volcanic pumice, and it has a cocktail of acids to get even deeper into those body pores. This is an exfoliator that uses both physical and chemical exfoliation to help with keratosis pilaris, ingrown hairs and dry patches. It’s got a subtly refreshing and therapeutic eucalyptus scent mixed with lavender, orange, patchouli and ginger that’s perfect for “everything showers”! My skin feel suuuper smooth and hydrated, plus my shower isn’t left with a greasy mess afterwards.
Price: $30 for 6.1 oz
Method: Physical (Volcanic Pumice) and Chemical (AHA/BHA/PHA)
Texture: Gel with buffing beads
Exfoliation strength: Mild
Scents Available: Eucalyptus

I Tried OSEA Salts Of The Earth Body Scrub
This is seriously one of THE BEST natural body scrubs on the market. It feels sooo luxurious and luscious with just the right ratio of salt to oil. I found it to be gritty not scratchy and buttery while still giving a good exfoliation. This has got a blend of mineral-rich salts, shea butter, rice bran, wild Gigartina seaweed and has a lovely lavender rosemary scent that isn’t too strong.
Price: $48 for 12 oz
Method: Physical (salt)

Exfoliation strength: Medium

I Tried Cocokind Scrubbing Clay (Budget!)
This is a super budget-friendly non-toxic body scrub that I use when my legs feel particularly dry and I want something suuuuper creamy and gentle. It’s really thick and has got prebiotic chicory root, upcycled coffee grounds, red clay and rice powder. I find that it’s gentle enough to be used on my face too! There’s also zero essential oil content in this scrub, so great for sensitive skin! I love that it comes in a squeeze tube so there’s less chance of water from the shower getting in and causing bacteria growth. If you’re looking for serious exfoliation I would skip Cocokind’s body scrub though. I don’t really detect any real scent from this except for maybe a slight coffee smell.
Price: $19 for 6 oz
Method: Physical (coffee)
Texture: Creamy with particles
Exfoliation strength: Mild

I Tried Bloomeffects Royal Tulip Petal Polish
This luxe clean body scrub was actually formulated by Bloomeffects’ founder while she was pregnant because she couldn’t use anything with retinol to target hyperpigmentation on her body. It’s scrubby without feeling abrasive and smells just like BANANA! It’s actually really innovative too – the formula contains both physical and chemical exfoliants, including a whopping 14% AHA, and it transitions from a scrub to a creamy cleanser. Royal Petal Polish has more advanced ingredients than a typical organic body scrub. It’s absolutely packed with skincare actives like Glycolic Acid, Malic Acid & Citric Acid, Pomegranate Enzyme, Red Sea Salt Crystals, Prebiotic Yogurt Blend, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid and Sodium Hyaluronate. I find this to be a soft scrub that can be either a body cleanser with exfoliation benefits or a body exfoliator with cleansing benefits, take your pick!
Price: $49 for 7 oz

I Tried Red Flower Lemon Coffee Blossom Olive Stone Scrub
I find Red Flower body scrubs to be on another level in clean beauty. They make exquisite hammam-inspired stone scrubs that are just sooo luxurious and can turn any shower into a high-end spa experience. Make no mistake, this is an INTENSE scrub that’s filled with arabic coffee, black olives, sugar, and fresh lemon rind to polish, detoxify and hydrate skin as well as help with the appearance of cellulite and varicose veins. It’s got equal parts sugar to coffee which is inspired by traditional Turkish coffee recipes and allows for a multi-layered exfoliating experience. The scrub is in a bath of cold-pressed oils of olive, apricot, almond, lemon and orange rind that deeply moisturize skin while the particles buff, tone and smooth skin. There’s also some luxurious ingredients like litsea oil, jasmine absolute, coffee blossom oil and black pepper oil. This is such a unique and effective all-natural body scrub that’s definitely a worthy splurge!

I Tried Whamisa Fresh Algae Body Melting Scrub (organic K-beauty!)
I find Whamisa’s 100% natural body scrub to be a super creamy and moisturizing scrub for those who want a gentle exfoliation. I also find that I don’t need to moisturize separately after using this scrub. It’s got a bunch of fruit acids from papaya, grape, apple, apricot, and finely grained salt to remove dead skin and flakes and spirulina and algae to provide skin with long lasting hydration. There’s also essential oils of rosewood, grapefruit and bergamot, but I wouldn’t consider this a fragrant product.

NERRA Exfoliating Body Duo
If you’re looking for an exfoliator that’s outside the box, definitely check out NERRA. This body exfoliator product consists of a pre-exfoliating foam that helps release or lift dead skin cells and an exfoliating body glove to buff away skin. Not a typical body scrub, but I HAD to include NERRA because they’re an incredible new natural body care brand whose products create a real Tunisian bathhouse spa experience at home. The foam itself is very gentle and is made of Tunisian olive oil while the exfoliating body glove does the real grunt work. It actually reminds me greatly of Korean bathhouses and the next-level exfoliating done with gloves too! This is great for those who don’t like to clean up post body scrub messes in the shower.
Price: $48 for 6.8 oz plus glove
Method: Foam with exfoliating glove

It’s got organic sugar, sandalwood, rich camellia, jojoba oils and kaolin clay along with a super nourishing blend of organic camellia, hemp seed and jojoba oils. This gives a really good and deep exfoliation, unlike some of the softer, creamier scrubs I mentioned above. I looove the grounding citrus scent that’s invigorating and calming at the same time!
