It’s been two years since NOYZ launched and I’ve been trying out their perfumes ever since. I was sent their launches, but as always, these are my honest thoughts on five NOYZ bestsellers: Loose Ends, Only Human, Rinse Cycle, Unmute and Sh*tty Day.

All NOYZ perfumes are genderless, 100% vegan, cruelty-free (PETA and The Vegan Society certified), and free from parabens, phthalates, and synthetic dyes.
Despite being unisex, I do find them to lean quite feminine and gourmand throughout their entire range. NOYZ’s “house DNA” feels very much cozy gourmand. They all tend to dry down to a deletable skin scent. If you’re new to the fragrance world, a fragrance house’s DNA is its signature style, a shared dry-down, note or quality that lets you recognize the maker right away. CELINE’s DNA, for instance, is the vintage powderiness of orris butter, while NOYZ’s is a warm, amber musk.
They’re one of the only clean perfume brands I’ve come across that also makes a solid fragrance version of their scents. I find this rare in mid-market brands, usually only made by ones with insane budgets (Diptyque) or no budget (niche perfumery).
NOYZ is also widely available at ULTA stores so you can sniff before you buy, though I don’t think you could go wrong blind buying some of them. They’re on the affordable end for the same quality as other brands in my opinion.
In a nutshell NOYZ is:
- Quality fragrance for $85, which is more affordable than similar quality brands
- Unisex but gourmand leaning
- In stores at ULTA
- Cleanish, vegan, cruelty free
- Offers innovative formats like solid fragrance and body milk (mylk de parfum) as well as candles

I tried Loose Ends Perfume
I love a warm boozy gourmand and Loose Ends has been wholly enjoyable to wear. It teeters towards saccharine territory for me if I spray too much, but just 1-2 spritzes does the job. Loose Ends opens sweet and inviting with black sugar and smoked vanilla, then warms into a rich, boozy heart of cognac and cassia, a cinnamon-like spice, with a soft touch of sheer orchid. As for the dry down, cocoa, amber, tonka bean, and cashmere woods give it a cozy, resinous depth that only gets better on the skin as the hours go by. Loose Ends is gourmand without being cloying or sticky, and sensual without being heavy. I find it to be ideal for a dinner date, a nightcap bedtime perfume or just lounging around as a comfort scent.

I tried Only Human Perfume
Only Human is by no means a unique fragrance (at least to my niche perfumery-loving nose) or one that stops people in their tracks, but it’s probably my favorite NOYZ perfume to date. If fragrance is the language of inanimate objects, then Only Human is a gossamer whisper in your ear, soft, close to the skin and impossible to ignore. It’s wearable year round and is a clean skin scent with a fresh pink pepper and bergamot opening, waterlily and bamboo heart and a vanilla, ambroxan, cedwarwood base. I find Only Human to be appropriate enough to wear to the office, yet sophisticated enough to carry you into the night, and entirely unoffensive and pleasant for both wearer and everyone around. I’d describe it simply as a cozy clean skin-hugging scent.
Only Human Notes

I tried NOYZ Only Human Mylk de Perfume
NOYZ’s Only Human Mylk de Parfum is one of the most unique ways I’ve worn fragrance, and surprisingly enough, I actually feel that the mylk de parfum version smells better than the eau de parfum even though the notes are technically the same. AND it seems to last longer. Something about this scent feels nostalgic yet modern, in a more pronounced way than their eau de parfum.
So whatdaheck is a mylk de parfum you might ask? Instead of a spray, it’s a fragrance milk you pour into your palms and smooth over your skin, so it moisturizes while it scents. It’s alcohol-free and infused with hyaluronic acid, so it won’t dry out your skin, and it’s not as strong as eau de parfum so there won’t be much sillage, which could be a good or bad thing for you. I love the pillowy milky texture and find that it absorbs super quickly without feeling sticky or greasy. It lingers for a very long time, from morning to night, and dries down to a delectable skin scent. In a world of fragranced body lotions galore, I find this texture adds a whole new dimension to Only Human’s scent architecture.

I tried Rinse Cycle Perfume
Rinse Cycle was NOYZ’s summer launch and it’s a clean musk scent that’s supposed to smell like fresh laundry, but it’s actually quite creamy and gourmand leaning. It’s still got NOYZ’s signature warm vanilla/woodsy undercurrent and the notes that dominate for me are the musk flower and pink waterlily. The opening fruity notes and cherry blossom also lends to its sweet facet. Overall, this is quite a sweet take on a laundry scent, which was a surprise because I expected it to smell more neutral, like fresh linen. If you like a warm, yummy laundry scent this might be up your alley. All in all, Rinse Cycle is one of NOYZ’s better scents and up there with Only Human for me. I find it to be a universally crowd pleasing and easy scent to wear.
Rinse Cycle Notes

I tried NOYZ Sh*tty Day Perfume
Sh*tty Day is a figgy clean scent that leans gourmand but is the opposite of heavy. It’s got a fresh and airy opening with bergamot, ocean air and coconut water while the salted fig dominates and the woods and tonka bean ground the scent back down to earth. The undercurrent of Venezuelan tonka bean, Baltic amber, and woods is noticeably present, so much so that it’s both a clean scent AND a gourmand scent to me. It’s a unique take on both fragrance families, and I feel like it’s ideal for the in-between seasons of fall and spring. Personally, I would have liked this perfume more without fig as a heart note. I love the unique pairing of bergamot with ocean air and coconut water and the rare amalgam of clary sage, blue violet and French lavender, but I think the scent would have felt more refined without the fig.
Sh*tty Day Notes

I tried Unmute Perfume
Unmute is very much a gourmand’s gourmand that’s jammy, decadent and oozes dark fruits, pistachio and vanilla. It’s an opulent dessert in a bottle and has a plum, cassia and pistachio opening, cashmere woods, ciste and incense heart and a vanilla amber base. To be honest I can hardly detect the ciste which is a note that has a resinous, slightly leathery and honeyed facet I find so unique and rarely used in fragrances I’ve tried. I would have like the ciste to be more pronounced, but it’s overpowered by all the other rich notes. Unmute is probably my least favorite NOYZ perfume, but if you love a jammy gourmand, you might like this. For me, it enters heavy, cloying territory and I get tired of smelling my own trail.
