I loooove citrus, floral and clean scents during warm weather and today I’m sharing my absolute faves that I’m burning all summerlong. I’m only sharing candles that use 100% natural wax and essential oils as scents for a clean burn.

Natural Sloth Summer Candle

I love Natural Sloth’s seasonal drops and their Summer candle has been a go-to during these balmy nights. They’re Made Safe certified, non toxic and made entirely of yellow beeswax, organic essential oils and a wooden wick. Summer is a blend of minty and citrus notes as well as some lemongrass. In a small living room, I can detect a subtle scent that isn’t loud or strong. But I think it’s a beautiful blend of notes that smells light, refreshing yet also grounding. Wild Petals is a very subtly scented earthy floral with the earthiness dominating.

I Tried Fontana Candle Co Sourdough

Now this is a scent that blew me away because it’s nothing like I’ve ever tried among the dozens and dozens of non-toxic candles I’ve burned over the years. A candle that smells like a freshly baked loaf of bread!? It definitely has this cozy slightly gourmand spice cabinet scent that’s subtle but there (I love using it in my kitchen)! Fontana only uses 100% essential oils and no fragrance oils to scent their candles and Sourdough uses Buddhawood and Anise oils. I can mainly detect the Anise scent. I looove this iridescent taupe vessel that looks so aesthetic and modern in my kitchen and living room.

How it smells: It’s sooo subtle but in a small room this candle fills up the space with a cozy non-sweet gourmand scent.

Terralite Orange Creme

I’m obseeeessed with Terralite’s Orange Creme this summer! I’ve tried all of their summer weather candle scents (Lemon Vanilla, Orange Blossom, Red Mandarin, Desert Sage, Coastal Ridge) and Orange Creme is one my absolute top favorites from this non-toxic candle line. It smells exactly like an orange creamsicle and has amazing scent throw.

The organic and wildcrafted essential oils they use are just so fragrant and high quality. Instead of synthetic vanilla, Terralite uses vanilla bean so it smells like the vanilla is super fresh and came right out of the pod. The Sweet Orange and Tangerine combo makes orange the dominant note but layered with lots of yum coziness from vanilla.

If you’re a neroli fan, then their Orange Blossom candle is a must.

Red Mandarin is one of their most unique candles with a very special type of red mandarin essential oil (Terralite founder Jess Waters explained to me they tried so many different kinds of red mandarin essential oils before landing on the one they chose for this candle). It’s one I haven’t seen used by any other nontoxic candle brand to date and it has a very intriguing sweet citrus yet earthy undertone to it.

Of course, their Wild Lavender candle is just pure lavender and has such a calming, therapeutic aroma while their Lavender Vanilla candle has a yummy vanilla facet added.

Flamingo Estate Adriatic Muscatel

This is such a fresh and clean scent that’s perfect for summer evenings. It smells so soothing and refreshing, yet deeply grounding and meditative. Plus, it fills my large living room so well. I just love how luxurious Flamingo Estate’s candles look and smell. They’re all about using ingredients grown right in their garden and I believe they use multiple species of sage in this candle. I find this candle super calming and refreshing, like an herb garden after a downpour. I will say this scent leans masculine and has a darkly facet to it, like wet soil.

How it smells: It smells clean, refreshing and camphorous.

Terralite Lavender Lemonade

If you’re looking for a lemon candle, Terralite’s Lavender Lemonade is citrus floral HEAVEN. The lavender is sooo soothing and calming and the Italian lemon oil brings the right amount of zest. Terralite uses coconut wax, hemp core wicks and organic coconut oil plus a heaping amount of organic, wildcrafted essential oils. This is simple yet sooo good and has amazing scent throw. I can’t say enough good things about Lavender Lemonade for summer.

How it smells: This one has got strooong scent throw and it smells exactly like a grove filled with lemons and lavender. It takes me back to my vacation in southern Italy!

Summer Solace Tallow Beeswax Candle: Vanilla Nectar

As a vanilla girlie I love a good clean vanilla scented candle and Summer Solace Tallow’s Vanilla Nectar candle is sooo therapeutic and yummy. It’s more of a sweet honey-like yet grounding vanilla scent that’s made with vanilla nectar essential oil from Madagascar and organic Peru balsam absolute (nothing else!). It smells super natural and nothing like the synthetic saccharine vanilla of conventional candles. Their all-natural wax is made from hyper local California beeswax and certified regeneratively raised tallow (zero waste!). It comes in a hefty blue-green glass vessel that reminds me of sea glass.

How it smells: very subtle, sweet dessert-like vanilla with a therapeutic facet

Summer Solace Tallow Beeswax Candle: Flora Iris

Flora Iris is my top favorite for summer out of their candle lineup. This is a very unique and interesting scent that’s not linear like most essential oil candles. It’s the exquisite Orris Butter and together with ylang ylang and Palo Santo, this scent is a gorgeous powdery white floral that I’d want to wear as a perfume. My only gripe is it comes in a smaller jar and burns faster than others.

Fontana Candle Co Honey Lemonade

This is another lemon scented non-toxic candle I’ve been loving this summer! It gives me a nostalgic vibe and has essential oils of lemon, vanilla and rosemary. It’s cozy and comforting with a hint of freshness and zest that also feels uplifting. This is great for a subtle cozy summer scent!

How it smells: It’s super subtle but smells faintly of yummy cozy lemon.
