From red light therapy masks to radiofrequency and electroporation to microinfusion, there’s always SOMETHING to discover in the skincare tech world. Today, we’re sharing all the details you’d want to know on Droplette and their physics-powered microinfusion technology. This device is all about skincare ABSORPTION that’s so good it’s supposed to be like you’re practically injecting your skincare into your face. Skeptic or not, the technology is pretty fascinating and it’s developed by two MIT grads. So let’s get into all things micromisting, aersolization and fluid physics in this Droplette review. What is Droplette

Droplette is skincare device that uses advanced microinfusion technology to deliver serums 20 times deeper than regular application.

How Does Droplette Work

Droplette uses fluid physics to turn serums into a micro-mist that’s delivered at a high velocity. It’s essentially done in three steps of miniaturizing, accelerating and concentrating their skincare formulations.

Inside the Droplette Microinfuser is something called an “ultrasonic piezo” that contains a steel mesh made of tiny holes.

When it’s electrified, it vibrates and forces serum through it, transforming it down into submicron-sized micro-mist particles.

Then the pump accelerates serum particles to over 1m/s so the serum has now changed in both size and speed.

The particles are 30-50 times smaller and moving at a super high speed.

The Droplette’s final step is its aerosolization process which evaporates the water base of the formulation, leaving the active ingredients more concentrated and potent.

This allows Droplette’s serums to pass through the tightly packed cell layers of the skin’s barrier achieving deeper delivery they claim is 20x deeper.

My Personal Experience with Droplette

The first thing I noticed with Droplette was that it’s considerably bulkier and heavier than any of my other devices. You might even think of it as reassuringly heavy because some of my more expensive devices feel as light as plastic toys. Clearly the Droplette requires some more machinery on the inside than most other devices.

Using the Droplette device is super simple – it’s just placing the capsule inside the hole and pressing the power button for the device to automatically mist your face for 60 seconds. You hold the device just a little bit away from your skin as it mists.

I found it interesting that I couldn’t hardly feel any “wet” sensation. Instead, it feels like a gentle stream of cold air blowing in your face. I can see some of the mist out of my peripheral vision.

Afterwards, my face feels dry to the touch externally but it somehow feels more hydrated internally, and I have to believe it’s because the serum has already been delivered subdermally as they claim.

The Droplette Collagen Hydrofiller Capsules have a lovely rose scent and contain Collagen, Argireline, advanced peptides and antioxidants to help with plumping and lifting.

While Droplette is meant to replace your serum or essence step, I actually go in with my serum(s) after. So for me it’s an additional step I like to incorporate versus using Droplette to replace a step. Serums are the most important step when it comes to improving your skin as it’s the only one that contains actives meant to penetrate skin cells.
