I’m using the rootist AHA + ACV Pre-Shampoo Rinse
I was actually surprised that the rootist is available at Sephora because I had never heard of them before AND they happen to be clean! I was desperately in need of a clarifying treatment preferably with Apple Cider Vinegar and this product came in clutch. It’s not only got ACV but also a whopping 9% AHA blend of Glycolic + Lactic Acid to exfoliate and clarify my flaky scalp. I always battle dandruff and flakiness during the winter as my scalp gets sooo dry. I like to use this twice a week on wash days and let it sit for at least an hour even though their directions say 10-15 minutes. I want to give all those actives ample time to sink in. It’s got a nozzle applicator tip so I can easily go through my scalp and apply all over. If my scalp is feeling particularly itchy I can feel this immediately start to tingle then soothe. I also super appreciate that it’s got a waterless formula that’s highly concentrated and begins with a base of aloe vera juice. Once I run out of this little sample bottle I’m definitely purchasing the full size.
I’m using ONE SKIN 0S-01 Face SPF
I immediately noticed how light and hydrating ONE SKIN’s tinted mineral sunscreen feels when I applied it. The consistency and texture is, dare I say, PERFECT especially for those who hate mineral sunscreens. I really don’t think it can get any better than this with zinc oxide sunscreen, and if you try it, you’ll know exactly what I mean. One Skin is famous for their crazy sounding Age Reversal technology, which is a term I really don’t appreciate it, but it’s basically a peptide that they patented that “switches off” aging cells and “switches on” healthy cells and cellular repair pathways. Sadly, it doesn’t come cheap at $56 for 1.35 ml. I tried both the untinted and tinted versions and both have the same wonderful texture and apply effortlessly. The untinted has the faintest white cast but it doesn’t leave my skin looking chalky like some other mineral sunscreens. The tinted version is a bit too deep in shade for my skin tone so I like to mix it with a sunscreen that does have a white cast.
I tried Wallaroo UPF Sun Protection Hat (2025 Winter Collection)
Wallaroo sent me a couple of their UPF 50 hats from their 2025 winter collection and I love love love their Colorado hat. I was just recently complimented by the cashier on my last Target run. UV rays are present year round, even during winter, even when there is zero sunshine, so I always wear sunscreen and a UPF hat. Wallaroo holds the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Approval and their fabrics are tested by the Australian Radiation Protection Agency and block 96 to 97.5% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. The Colorado style features 100% wool felt and a 4 inch brim for excellent protection and it just looks so chic. It also comes in a lighter oatmeal shade, but I preferred the brown because it won’t get dirty as quickly. I took this photo on an off day hence my disheveled look, but there’s nothing a good hat, shades and jacket won’t mask. I forgot to bring sunglasses to California so I popped into a 99 cent store and grabbed these shades, which are actually kinda cute!
I’m using Veracity Selfcare Metabolism Ignite
I purchased this product a while back out of curiosity and am still using it today as part of my fitness journey. A little of my backstory: after falling off the bandwagon for years, I finally made up my mind to take my fitness seriously (and it feels amazing!) and get lean and toned. When I pack on extra pounds, I’m what people would call “skinny fat.” So part of getting lean involves shredding fat, which requires a boost in metabolism. The best way to do this is by building muscle, which I’m currently working on, but I was also curious about Veracity’s metabolism boosting product. Why not give my body any extra help it could use, right? I love that it’s all natural, 100% plant-based and holistic and made with just Lemon Verbena, Hibiscus, Green Coffee Bean Extract (decaffeinated) and Magnesium to help curb cravings and burn fat. It’s also made in the USA in an FDA-reviewed, NSF and GMP certified facility. There’s no way I can measure results from this because I’m doing all sorts of things like strength training, intermittent fasting, etc, but I like to think this is helping me boost my progress. Does it turn off my appetite completely? No, at best it might be reducing it somewhat, but the hunger on my calorie deficit days doesn’t go away completely (how incredible would that be though?!).

I’m using Sky and Sol Tallow Sunscreen
My holy grail tallow brand will forever be this one, but if you’re looking for a tallow sunscreen that isn’t dense and rich, I’ve been using this Sky and Sol SPF. When I first tried it I was blown away by how lightweight it was. I love that it’s got SPF 50 and has a very pleasant light and hydrating consistency. It’s so easy to apply, spreads and sinks in immediately. It doesn’t feel like it’s “sitting” on top of my skin. Very minimal white cast and no scent. The ingredients are super simple (it’s not vegan btw).

I’m using Wild Eve for mocktails during dry January
I decided to cut out alcohol for the sake of my well-being AND my skin and have been dipping my toes into the mocktail craze. I’ve tried out a number of different brands and my favorite so far has been Wild Eve, which is an organic, whole plant, adaptogenic, small-batch made drink. What I love about it is how SOUR the flavor is with a spicy kick in the aftertaste. I like to drink it with one giant ice cube or mixed with a little tonic. It’s got Oats, Ashwaganda, Grapefruit Peel, Sugar Kelp, Juniper Berries, Chipotle Chilis, bitters, herbs, spices and notes of Chamomile, Rose and Honeysuckle.
I’m using Bird & Be Ovarian Reserve Testing
I still don’t know if I want to have children and I’m not sure if freezing my eggs is even worth it, but I found this ovarian reserve test to be an easy thing I can do in the meantime while I’m undecided. It’s an affordable test that uses your urine to detect if you have an above average or below average number of eggs left. It’s super easy to use – I just needed to wait for my period to come around and find a small cup to hold my urine. I did need to test on 3 different days during my period so I wouldn’t say it’s a quick process.
I’m using Suri Sustainable Electric Toothbrush
I was excited to try out a sustainable electric toothbrush and was surprised to find they had a whole gigantic stand dedicated to them when I went to Erewhon. It’s made with recyclable, plant-based heads (made from cornstarch and castor oil), has a slim handle and boasts 33,000 sonic vibrations a minute.
There’s a couple things I love about it besides the fact that it prioritizes being eco-friendly. First, the handle is a lot better to hold than some other electric toothbrushes I’ve tried and it’s light. Second, the charging base is so compact unlike bulkier ones I’ve tried. Third, the UV travel case is optional, but I really like having it because it ensures that my brush stays clean and bacteria free.

I’m using NOYZ Unmute Perfume
Apparently NOYZ has been making a lot of noyz on social media and I was able to try out their Unmute and Sh*tty Day perfume. My favorite out of the two is Unmute because I’m sucker for yummy gourmand perfumes. I’m using this as my current bedtime perfume. It’s a vanilla amber perfume with notes of black plum and pistachio. I don’t find it overly heavy or rich and I love that it has Somalian Incense, Spanish Ciste and Indonesian Cassia. It’s also certified vegan and cruelty free. This isn’t a 100% natural perfume but it’s cleaner than conventional. My other favorite gourmand currently is Wild Veil Perfume’s Rose Milk solid perfume which is 100% natural and has notes of rosa centifolia, milk oolong, calamondin enfleurage, tahitian vanilla, mysore sandalwood, and khadrawi dates.
I’m using Badger Sleep Balm
I’ve been turning more to sleep health improving products to get over my jet lag. I love how affordable and useful Badger’s organic balms are and have been using them for a decade. I’ve currently using their Sleep Balm again as part of my bedtime ritual. A little spritz of my bedtime perfume and a little bit of this lavender bergamot balm on my pulse points and I feel like I’m lulled to sleep better.
I’m using The Qi Blue Lotus Tea
I’ve tried all of The Qi’s organic whole flower teas and my favorite is their Blue Lotus tea hands down. The taste and flavor that comes out of this blue lotus flower is divine. It’s unlike any tea I’ve tasted before and so unique I’m not sure how to even describe it. My second favorite is their single origin Butterfly Pea Tea.
I’m using Cheekbone Beauty Blush
I’m currently reading the book The Story Is In Our Bones by Osprey Orielle Lake and it’s been lending new meaning to using my Cheekbone Beauty makeup. This indigenous-owned brand makes clean, vegan, and cruelty-free makeup and they’re Certified B Corp. I love that they’re affordable, impact-driven and high-performance. I’m using their Courage Cheek + Lip Cream and it’s sooo creamy and intensely pigmented! It’s made mostly of jojoba oil and castor seed oil and feels super moisturizing and Heartberry is perfect vibrant bear shade.
I’m using True Sea Moss
Unfortunately I love candy, which is so bad for my skin, so I’ve been trying to curb it by taking healthy gummies. I’ve also been wanting to incorporate sea moss since it’s amazing for skin, but the gel tastes so god awful. True Sea Moss Gummies combines my love for sweets and my desire for sea moss in a fun and tasty way. I have to stop myself from eating past the daily serving size. So if you hate the taste of sea moss but still want to eat it, I suggest trying out gummies instead.

I’m using Wool Aid Bandages (PFAS-free)
I’ve tried bamboo bandages, but this is my first time trying merino wool bandages! They’re PFAS-free, sustainable, soft yet durable, and made from 100% HyperFine New Zealand Merino Wool. I like that they’re breathable yet sturdy.
Have you tried any of these? I’d love to hear from you!
