byAva’s gua sha tool actually solves a huge pain point for me and that’s holding onto the stone and not accidentally dropping it. Once you practice Gua Sha you’ll notice that holding onto it can be awkward, and when hands get sweaty or skincare gets on it, things get slippery. This is a substantially sized tool with a grip built in (and an acupressure point) so I can easily hold onto my stone. I also love how wide and large it is like YINA’s so it covers a lot of surface area. Ceramic is not my favorite material for a gua sha, so it falls short in that department for me.

Shelter Skin’s stainless steel gua sha is one of the smartest ones I’ve seen launch lately. Besides the curved sculpting edges you’d expect, it has a built-in lengthy pointed acupressure tip made for pressing into tension spots like the jaw hinge, temples, and brow bone. What I like about this acupressure pen is how fine it is so you can really pinpoint a specific pressure point.

I’ve used Gua Sha scalp combs but I like this stamp tooly thing more because it’s easier to hold and use. By Ava’s ceramic tool has an elongated handle and a tapered point specifically shaped for working into the scalp, neck, and shoulders in addition to the jawline and cheeks. I use circular motions and it feels fantastic. The ceramic stays cool and glides smoothly, and the pointed opposite end lets you apply focused pressure to tight spots rather than only the broad scraping motion you’d get from a flat stone. I really like the elongated handle that makes it easy to hold. It also has a rounded acupressure tip on the other side but it’s pretty wide and doesn’t allow for precision acupressure.

BEST MICRONEEDLING  Tool:  Banish Banisher 3.0 (Banish Kit 3.0)

The Banisher 3.0 is an at-home microneedling tool built around Banish’s mission of fading acne scars, dark spots, and uneven texture over time. This one is my preferred because instead of rolling, which can be painful and too intense, it uses a stamping motion with ultra-thin gold-plated titanium bristles. The little spikes create tiny, uniform micro-channels in the skin, and feels gentler and more precise than traditional derma rollers. On thing to note is the tool isn’t a standalone product and comes as part of a kit with a replacement head and skincare product.

A note on microneedling safety. I would advise you to stay away from the cheap ones on Amazon, most of which are sketchy. Microneedling creates literal small wounds in your skin and is invasive, so you do not want to be tearing your skin with something that could be hiding toxic materials. In my personal experience, I find the ZIIP Halo to work better than the NuFace Trinity. This is a solid, budget face steamer that I bought on Amazon and it gets the job done. There’s plenty of fancier ones on the market, but it’s just evaporated water at the end of the day. The NanoSteamer Pro uses fine nano-ionic steam to open up pores, which helps loosen dirt, oil, and buildup before cleansing, extractions, or applying a mask. I’m a huge proponent of regular facial steams, especially if you live in a high pollution city.

If you want an in-shower cleansing brush instead of a loofah, I like my PMD Clean Body device. It’s double sided – one side has silicone bristles and the other side has an anti-bacterial and silver-infused loofah. This one boasts SonicGlow technology of 7,000 vibrations per minute. BEST LED HAIR HELMET:  CurrentBody Skin LED Hair Growth Helmet

CurrentBody’s LED Hair Growth Helmet uses 120 red LED lights at 630 to 660 nanometers that deliver low-level light therapy across the entire scalp. Wavelength is what makes red light therapy actually effective, and the most important aspect to look for in an effective product.

I found it super convenient to use, because I’m free to drink, eat, move and work throughout the treatment and there are no cords to deal with.
