What’s a “closed-loop process”? It’s a manufacturing method that captures and reuses the chemical solvents needed to break down plant fibers, instead of releasing them into the environment — a key thing to look for with bamboo and Tencel fabrics.
Organic Pajamas Certifications Quick Guide
GOTS Certified
Global Organic Textile Standard — requires at least 70% certified organic fiber plus chemical restrictions across the entire supply chain, and bans PFAS by default. The gold standard for organic sleepwear fabric.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100
Tests the finished fabric for harmful residues — PFAS, formaldehyde, heavy metals — without requiring organic fibers. A good baseline when GOTS isn’t available.
Audits the entire supply chain — not just the finished fabric — screening over 20,000 chemical formulations before production even starts. Broader in scope than GOTS or OEKO-TEX, though it doesn’t require organic fiber.
MADE SAFE
Screens the whole finished garment against a list of more than 6,500 chemicals restricted for human and ecological health — the broadest single cross-category check, not fabric-specific.
USDA Organic
Certifies the raw cotton was grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or GMOs. Says nothing about dyes, finishes, or trims added after harvest — pair it with GOTS or OEKO-TEX for full-garment coverage.
Fair Trade Certified
Guarantees garment workers fair wages and safe working conditions, audited annually. A labor and ethics standard, not a chemical-safety one.
I tried Q for Quinn 100% Organic Cotton Boxers and Tank Top
Q For Quinn’s Organic Cotton Boxers and Tank Top are made with 100% certified organic cotton, fully biodegradable trims and cotton-covered elastics. They’re 100% compostable and feel really soft, airy and delicate. The Pointelle version has such a feminine design with cute little hearts going up and down, cotton lace and scalloped edges. I love the little buttons on the boxers too. The boxers and tank fit true to size, but if you have a long torso I would recommend sizing up. Q for Quinn is sewn in Tirupur, India and their cotton is grown from farms across India with a fully traceable supply chain. Q for Quinn also makes my absolute favorite organic socks.

I tried Eberjey Gisele Classic Pajama Sleepshirt
Eberjey makes the most stylish non toxic pajamas made of Tencel modal, silk and linen fabrics. They use 95% TENCEL Modal and 5% Elastane fabrics that are verified by OEKO-TEX Standard 100 to be free of harmful chemicals. They have a ton of cute designs but their Gisele design is a classic and the fabric feels luxuriously soft to the touch and breathable. I find that they have a comfortable loose fit. The fabric feels super similar to bamboo. I absolutely love the convenience of Eberjey’s pajama shirt that I can just throw on over my head and take off the next morning in one go.

I tried Norsu Organics Cotton Pajamas
Norsu Organics makes the cutest GOTS-certified organic cotton pajamas in matching sets for adults and kids around, plus short sleeve long pants sets and even 3/4 sleeves! I LOVE how durable, thick and high quality their cotton feels. They come in mommy and me sets and the kids’ line covers sizes from about 6 months up to 6T, and have thoughtful details like front snap buttons for quick changes. The 3/4 sleeve top has a V neck style and pockets on both sides, while the pants have a sturdy drawstring and nice spacious pockets. The Holiday Joy style is so cute and festive, perfect for the holidays!
I tried Christy Dawn Regenerative Cotton Mattie Slip and Bobby Short
Christie Dawn recently launched their new intimates line made with 100% regenerative cotton and I love wearing their Mattie Slip to sleep. There’s nopolyester, PFAS or microplastics. They’re digitally printed with organic dyes and ethically made in India. If you’re wondering what regenerative cotton is, it’s actually a step above organic cotton and works to improve the land in terms of soil health, biodiversity and carbon capture. That’s why Christy Dawn’s clothes come with a tag saying “this garment helps heal the earth”. Organic cotton is stricter in terms of what’s not allowed in the fabric, while regenerative cotton helps restore the ecosystem. Christy Dawn makes gorgeous, vintage inspired designs and my Bobbie Shorts feel so light and airy and have a playful ruffled hem. Rose Garden has a colorful print on the outside and natural pointelle inside with a generous drawstring to tie if you need to. I got the large size to be on the safe side and factoring in possible shrinkage in the dryer, but it runs large, so medium would have still been a loose fit.

Pact makes solid affordable pajamas made of 100% organic cotton in beautiful floral prints and all of their summer sleepwear is on clearance for amazing value for money. These are breathable, comfortable and super duper lightweight! Pact makes their PJs from GOTS-certified organic cotton, in Fair Trade-certified factories, so the fabric is grown without any pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. They’re also climate-friendly and carbon neutral and everything is very reasonably and affordably priced. I tried Dagsmejan Night Renew Skincare Pajamas
The world’s first certified non toxic pajamas with collagen skincare is here! Dagsmejan’s new Night Renew pajamas are sleepwear that’s an overnight skincare treatment using their proprietary NATTCOLLAGEN technology. They embed marine collagen peptides directly into eucalyptus fibers rather than applying them as a surface coating, and since the peptides are locked into the base structure of the yarn before the fabric is even knitted, they’re designed to withstand washing. Their PJs hold a boatload of third-party safety certifications including OEKO-TEX Standard 100, bluesign, FSC, PEFC, and NATIVA. They’ve even put it through independent clinically testing AND dermatological testing (Dermatest) though the actual results aren’t available publicly. These feel extreeemely stretchy, breathable and thin and have a cute scalloped edge on the sleeves and bottom. I find they fit true to size.
I tried Quince 100% European Linen Pajama Set (budget!)
Quince makes the most affordable 100% linen pajamas on the market I’ve found. Their 100% linen pajama set is made from European flax linen and is hypoallergenic, breathable and OEKO-TEX certified non toxic. I love that the pants have pockets, an elastic waistband and drawstrings. They do have a rumpled look and crease easily. The The top has a loose fit while the pants run large for me. It doesn’t have the same softness as cotton, but linen feels supremely cooling, airy and moisture-wicking – perfect for summer!

I tried Coyuchi Women’s Isla Organic Cotton Cami Short Set
I love that Coyuchi’s Organic Cotton Cami Short Set is actually affordable and made with 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton and natural shell buttons instead of plastic. I find this pajama set has a crisp and cool feel, so it’s perfect if you want something breathable for the warmer months. It’s hypoallergenic, practical and thoughtfully made with adjustable straps for the cami, and the shorts have pockets and an elastic waistband. Sizing runs large. I’m normally a Medium size, but decided to get the Large since I like a looser fit for sleeping but the shorts were falling down. I’d stick to your normal size for a loose fit or size down for a true fit. I love and trust Coyuchi for their amazing selection of high-quality organic bedding, and now their pajamas!

I tried Kent Organic Supima Cotton Sleep Tee Short Set
Kent’s Organic Supima Cotton Sleep Set is THE perfect 100% organic cotton T-shirt and shorts for sleeping and lounging in. It’s made with 100% GOTS certified organic Supima cotton with zero synthetics, PFAS or plastic dyes. I find that this set feels SO breathable and weightless on me. The shirt has a boat scoop neck design and pointelle detailing on the back and both the shirt and shorts have scalloped sides. The shorts run small so I would size up. The shirt fits true to size and has an oversized design, so I feel like you could even size down. Supima cotton feels even softer the more I wash it. Kent also makes the best non toxic underwear I’ve tried to date.

I tried Cozy Earth Bamboo Stretch Knit Pajama Set
I have five different sets of Cozy Earth pajama sets in both long sleeve and short sleeve because I simply love the feel of their bamboo fabric. Their pajamas are hypoallergenic, gentle on sensitive skin, and feel so buttery soft yet breathable. They’re made with 95% premium viscose from bamboo and 5% spandex and come in a bunch of different colors and cute patterns.
I will say that after a few years some of my darker color pajamas are starting to show some pilling but nothing serious. Cozy Earth’s tops and shorts fit true to size with a relaxed, loose fit but some of their long pants run large for me. All their Bamboo Stretch Knit pants have an elastic drawstring waistband so I’m able to tie them to fit me, but it can be annoying to tie and untie them.
